Myth Reading Group
Tuesday 1 November 2011
5 – 6 p.m.
Room 5A.330

Dr Cate Gunn will lead a discussion on the sacrificial aspects of the Eucharist. The text is part of the Canon of the Mass, taken from the Sarum Missal (in English and in Latin, for those who like to assess the translation):

(If your computer doesn’t support the ‘.docx’ format, you can download the same file in the older ‘.doc’ format using this link: canon of the mass.doc)

You may also wish to return the table in the Martha Blake piece from last week which places Catholic sacrifice as one example among many:

On a related note, a reminder of the celebration of the quatercentenary of the King James Bible, Saturday 29 October, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., LTB10, Colchester campus. The event features talks and readings from a number of members of the Essex Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies, including some members of the Myth Reading Group. The event is free.
